		Additional Calculators   The following additional calculators were developed during the SmartConservationTM project but are not currently included in the model calculations. They are included here so members of the SmartConservationTM community can use them as helpful tools. The scores output by these assessment calculators will not be stored in the SmartConservationTM database or applied to any sites you are assessing using this website. Bird Species Richness and Guild Richness Calculator - Provides a checklist of birds present in SE Pennsylvania. Checking off birds present in a particular area results in a score from 1 to 10 for that area. Species Diversity Calculator - Calculates Fisher's Alpha, Shannon and Kemp-Simpson indexes for assessing species diversity. This requires the total number of plant species recorded in a sample as well as the total number of individuals in each species. SmartConservationTM is being hosted by the Center for Spatial Innovation in the Environment at Penn State Institutes of Energy and the Environment and the NBII Mid Atlantic Information Node. The web site and the software engine driving the model were developed by Azavea, Inc.
